The sound of Rain

The sound of Rain

A solid, striking sound, expanding through Prignano, between Mount Stella and the sea. A white mother of pearl shell, purchased from merchant ships at the port of Naples. Antonio Longo, geologist and co-founder of Santomiele, described to us the tradition according to which - for centuries - that sound, similar to that of a ship, signaled the arrival of storms, followed by a race to save the white figs left outside to sun dry.
